2000 to Current

In October of 2000 John Nutter was hired as Minister Of Celebration Ministries after three years of lay leadership in the music ministry.

As the Cell Ministry continued to grow, Richard Hart transitioned from Youth Pastor to Cell Pastor in June of 2001. At that time T. J. Leach was called to be the new Youth Pastor of Venice Bible Church.

Adam Lacy was called to be the Children's Pastor at Faith Community Church in The Woodlands, Texas.  Kathy McKellar filled the void, serving as Directory of Children's Ministries in March 2002.  In 2004 Larry Schweizer became the new Children's and Family Minister at Venice Bible Church.

2004 proved to be a year of significant challenges for our church family, which resulted in Pastors Tony, John, and T.J. starting their own church in the Venice area, and a transitional team of new Elders being established to help us navigate through some deep waters. God started rebuilding us into a church that was growing in our dependence upon His Spirit and His Word as He led us.

Pastor Rich Hart faithfully served as interim Senior Pastor at VBC until God led him to move to Virginia in 2006 where he is currently serving as Youth Pastor.

In the spring of 2005, the transitional team of Elders presented a group of men to the body that were approved as our new Elders. Travis Reynolds came on staff in July as the Minister to Youth, and Caye Siller began double duty as an Associate Minister to Youth and Women. God continued to demonstrate His faithfulness in shepherding us we continued to look to Him for the transforming work of Jesus Christ in our lives.

In the summer of 2006, God brought Dr. Phil Schmunk to Venice Bible Church as Senior Pastor.
